AMD has extended its FirePro family by unveiling FirePro V9800, which is a professional graphics card featuring support for up to six monitors with ATI Eyefinity technology.
The company said that its FirePro family, which also includes FireProV8800, FirePro V7800, FirePro V5800, FirePro V4800 and FirePro V3800 will provide digital content creation, computer aided design (CAD) and visualisation specialists advanced features.
The new FirePro V9800 features eyefinity technology with six mini DisplayPort outputs, that enables seamless, plug-and-play multi-monitor use; 4GB GDDR5 memory; real world performance; and 3D stereo and synchronisation features supports stereo 3D capability, supporting active shutter glasses via the on-board 3-pin connector, along with passive and auto-stereoscopic displays and projectors.
AMD professional graphics senior director Janet Matsuda said that with today’s announcement of the ATI FirePro V9800, they are introducing the ultimate workstation graphics offering for the professional graphics industry.
"It offers users with demanding DCC and visualisation requirements six monitor support on one GPU and a superior price-to-performance ratio," Matsuda said.
