By CBR Staff Writer

Online retailer Amazon has announced that it would be launching its Kindle Touch for the WiFi only and Kindle Touch for WiFi/3G version in Europe on April 27.

The WiFi-only version would cost £109 while the WiFi/3G version would come at £169 in the UK.

Sporting a 6-inch screen, the WiFi version will weigh 213g, as against Kindle Touch 3G which would weigh 220g.

The new models come with an X-Ray feature to let users find related passages in a book as well as more detailed information from Wikipedia and Amazon’s community-written book encyclopaedia ‘Shelfari,’ according to the BBC.

Amazon Kindle division vice-president Jorrit Van der Meulen said UK customers have been asking Amazon to make Kindle Touch available on Amazon.co.uk and they were excited to do so.

"We launched our first Kindle here 18 months ago and it very quickly became successful with 500,000 titles," added Meulen.

But, Amazon has not confirmed as to when it would be launching its Kindle Fire in Europe.
