Amazon to launch TV and movie download service

Internet retail giant Amazon is reported to be in talks with major Hollywood studios as it looks to add a movie and TV show program download service to its popular online shopping site.

By CBR Staff Writer

Recent press reports indicate that the internet giant is currently in negotiations with Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios and Warner Bros as potential content providers for its service.

Amazon was recently rumored to be readying itself for the launch of a digital music download service, a service that would prove the biggest challenge yet posed to Apple Computer and its massively popular iTunes download service.

No formal announcement has yet been released by Amazon or any of the Hollywood Studios implicated.
