Amazon launches one-click internet shopping buttons in UK

Amazon brings its one-click internet shopping tool Amazon Dash to UK shoppers

By Hannah Williams

Amazon UK has announced the launch of its one-click internet shopping tool, Amazon Dash.
The internet-connected buttons allow users to place an instant order for next-day delivery.

Around 50 companies including Andrex, Gillette and Kleenex will begin selling their branded buttons on Amazon’s UK website from today.

The handheld ‘Dash buttons’ are designed to connect to the Amazon smartphone app and a home WiFi network, set to charge a credit card and trigger an instant order when pressed.

Along with this, Amazon has also announced plans to bring its Amazon Dash Replenishment service to the UK. This will remove the need to press the button, allowing the products to place the order themselves.

Vice President at Amazon EU, Jorrit Van der Meulen said: “We’ve found that Prime members in the US love the ease that both Dash Replenishment and Dash Buttons offer, and we’re delighted to bring that same convenience to our customers in the UK- with dozens of brands available today and more to come.”

It is expected that various buttons can be placed around the house for their different uses, for instance, for washing up powder the Ariel dash button can be placed on a washing machine.

To avoid multiple orders, Amazon has added a disabling function which will disable the button until the package is delivered. Orders can also be cancelled on the Amazon app.
