AMADEUS GATHERS MONEY FOR ITS UK IT VENTURE FUND

By CBR Staff Writer

Amadeus Capital Partners, the Cambridge, UK-based venture capital fund headed by Acorn Group co-founder Hermann Hauser earlier this year (CI No 3,184), has been given the go ahead to start gathering in money from investors; which will be injected into up and coming UK-based technology companies. Microsoft Corp has already pledged 5m pounds to the Cambridge-based fund, (CI No 3,203) with Dutch bank and venture capital company Gilde, and media news agency Reuters Holdings Plc each committing 5m pounds. Amadeus aims to raise 30m pounds, but hopes it will be able to reach 40m pounds by the time it comes to a second close next year.
