Amadeus Development SA, the consortium of European Univac 1100 airline system users that decided to build its reservation system around IBM mainframes, is putting some business Unisys Corp’s way: it has retained Unisys to provide personal computers and other equipment to be used by travel agents to access the Amadeus system; Unisys already has supplied Amadeus with other major systems and software – the Fare Quote application, developed by Air France in co-operation with SITA, on large Unisys 2200 mainframes at the Amadeus Erding computer centre.
