The arrival of Altos Computer Systems Inc veteran Colin Goble from the US to become the first managing director of Altos UK since Archie Thomas left a year ago (CI No 1,117), has resulted in the resignation of long-term marketing manager Barry Forest and general manager Mike Daly: the Altos party line has it that the company is actually increasing its marketing presence over here in preparation for the introduction of the new 80486-based Series 1000 line, and is busy recruiting new resellers – but others are saying that the company does not need as many people in its own office now that it is relying more heavily on the Microtex division of Logitek Plc for its marketing and distribution.
