San Jose, California-based Altera Corp cut list prices up to 50% on its high-density Flex 10K family of programmable logic devices, claiming Flex 10K is the highest density family of such logic available with up to 100,000 gates. It says increased process and manufacturing efficiencies and increased yield from its patented redundancy technology have led to cost reductions, which it is passing to customers.
