We all laugh at ads in the Guardian for a Pottery Analyst for the Test Valley Archaeological Trust or an Executive Director for the Women’s Environmental Network, and comfort ourselves that it could only happen in the public sector – but then what are we to make of the fact that Dun & Bradstreet Information Services just appointed an executive vice-president – executive vice-presidents are the top honchos and most companies only have three or four of them at most – executive vice-president corporate synergy?
