ALPHATEC MISSES BOND PAYMENT

By CBR Staff Writer

Thailand’s troubled chip manufacturer Alphatec Electronics Plc, the company that owes bills totalling some $450m, has missed an extended deadline to repay $45m in Euroconvertible bonds, reports the Wall Street Journal. Bondholders have given the company another month before a default is declared. Much of the company’s debt was accumulated when it underwent a massive expansion plan last year.
