Alphameric Plc warns that while its first half profits to September 30 will be well ahead of the UKP512,000 achieved in the period in 1985, they will likely fall short of the UKP1.7m achieved this time last year, the reason being delays in getting its satellite broadcast data receiving systems into 800 betting shops – due to external factors: the company still looks for the outturn for the full year to show substantial growth in sales and pre-tax profits against last year.
