Alloy Computer Products Inc of Framingham, Massachusetts, will supply APT 40/Q and Tape System/2 tape drives to Scientific Micro Systems of Mountain View, California, to sell under its Identica brand name, in a two year OEM contract valued at over $8m: the 40/Q, featuring the new QIC-40 Revision D tape standard, is designed for internal mounting in the IBM Personal, AT and compatibles, holds 40Mb and comes in 3.5 and 5.25 versions, while the Tape System/2 pro-vides 40Mb of data storage on a DC-2000 type data cartridge and the Scientic Micro pact is its first OEM contract for the IBM PS/2 line.
