Marlborough, Massachusetts-based Alloy Computer Products Inc, which has dabbled in add-in Micro Channel boards, diskless workstations, tape back-up subsystems as well as software, has cut its workforce by half to 40 – against nearly 300 in 1989 and has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It will restructure to focus on its core networking products and will go ahead and launch some new ones this week.
