Secure IP/Ethernet switching provider Allied Telesis announced the launch of its x210 Series Gigabit Layer 2+ switches and the x510 series of stackable Gigabit switches with Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+).
The firm said the switches can help beat bandwidth congestion and service delivery problems as more businesses adopt cloud based services.
The switches support the IPv6 protocol and are said to include a full range of security and resiliency features, coupled with easy management to support the requirements of a variety of enterprise networks, including retail, government, education and healthcare.
The new x210 Series Gigabit Layer 2+ switches are the entry-level products in the x-Series family and are aimed at network access applications. The x210 series offers a guaranteed secure network that has powerful control over network traffic, secure management options and multi-layered security features. Its tri-authentication ensures that only known users and devices access the network, with separate controlled access for guests.
The x510 Series of stackable Gigabit switches also includes a range of security and resiliency features, coupled with easy management. The two new Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) models, the AT-x510-28GPX and AT-x510-52GPX, each deliver enough PoE+ to support the requirements of enterprise networks, the company said.
Both PoE+ models can provide up to 370 Watts of power to support high-powered devices such as video surveillance cameras and IP phones, and eliminates the need for power rewiring as well as offering reduced office noise pollution.
