Allegient says the latest version of its litigation management and legal bill review system features an added self-insured retention functionality, as well as enhanced rate navigation and filter settings and an improved firm submission queue.

The new self-insured retention (SIR) functionality enables insurers to monitor the litigation costs on claims. This occurs by allowing them to review invoices against billing guidelines, which identifies invoices below or exceeding the self-insured retention; review all invoices for compliance and monitor litigation costs on claims with SIR.

It also lets insurers provide recommendations to insured on payment of invoices below the retention; track and reference all activity for invoices subject to SIR; and make payments for only their portion of the defense costs.

US-based Allegient’s web-based application delivers collaboration, efficiency and productivity to the litigation management process by using electronic invoicing, online bill review, budgeting, workflow management and a rules engine.
