About the most valuable asset left at Western Union Corp is the Upper Saddle River, New Jersey company’s historic name – and it doesn’t want it sullied by association with the Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings to which it expects to resort later this year: it has therefore changed its name to New Valley Corp, keeping the Western Union name for its two remaining operating companies.
