Seattle-based Aldus Corp warns that it will only break even or see a small loss on sales of $38m to $42m for the quarter to June 30: it says the lower earnings are due primarily to a significant revenue shortfall and higher expenses in its German subsidiary and, to a lesser degree, from lower than expected sales of its Windows-based products in Europe and the US; the company also announced that it had renamed its San Diego-based acquisition, Silicon Beach Software, the Aldus Consumer Division and introduced the division’s first product – a smart drawing program, Aldus Intellidraw, for both Windows and Apple Computer Inc’s Macintosh and enables users to draw, experiment and refine visual ideas; no price.
