Bowing to legalised blackmail, Seattle, Washington-based Aldus Corp says it will pay between about $0.50 and 1.10 a share to some shareholders to settle the securities class action lawsuit filed against the company last year; the company said a substantial portion of the settlement will be funded by its insurer and that the cost to Aldusof the settlement will be within previously reserved amounts.
