In one of the most extraordinary high-tech debuts ever, Aldus Corp, Seattle sold its initial public offering of 2,240,000 shares at $20 a share yesterday – and watched them climb to $34 by 11am and on to $37 by 1.30pm. The exchange was unable to measure the volume of trades because activity was so hectic, but the entire issue was estimated to have changed hands once in the first two hours. The offering was co-managed by Alex Brown & Sons Inc and Montgomery Securitiec as underwriters.
