Alchemy a provider of legacy modernisation offerings, has unveiled new upgrades to three of its modernise-as-you-migrate products with support for Visual Studio 2010 and the latest Microsoft platforms.
The releases include new updates to NeoBatch, a batch migration offering for bringing mainframe JCL to the Windows/.NET environment; NeoKicks, which provides a wizard that takes CICS COBOL programs and associated BMS maps, converts them to the .NET compatible forms, and populates a Visual Studio project for building and testing migrated code.
In addition, the new version of NeoServices is a Windows-based system for service-enabling mainframe business logic and integrating with modern application and web environments.
According to Alchemy, the NeoBatch executes mainframe batch JCL on Windows, widens the information avenue by providing SQL Server Report Services templates on job execution statistics and a Microsoft SCOM management pack while NeoKicks is a tool for migrating CICS applications to the .NET environment. It also adds a SCOM management pack, along with easy ways of adding new controls to the migrated CICS screens.
The update to Web service enablement tool NeoServices adds support for Java Server and Windows .NET delegates, BMS map groups, and a number of usability-enhancing details and gives enterprises the ability to service-enable existing mainframe, as well as NeoKicks-based business logic, with no code changes.
Ron Langer, general manager for Alchemy, said: “In this release of NeoKicks and NeoBatch, we take advantage of increased Windows management functionality, like the System Center Operations Manager, which allows customers to monitor their IT services and react to operational problems.”
