Luxembourg-based telecommunications group Millicom International SA said its Comvik International Vietnam AB associate in conjunction with Vietnam Mobile Services Co awarded a $30m contract to France’s Alcatel Telecom. Alcatel Telecom will supply an extension of Comvik’s Groupe Speciale Mobile network in northern Vietnam; Millicom International, 34% owned by Kinnevik AB, said the deal would increase initial capacity of the net to 100,000 subscribers from 10,000.
