ALCATEL WINS LION’S SHARE OF BELGIUM’S TELECOMMUNICATIONS UPGRADE PROGRAMME

Alcatel NV has duly won the lion’s share of Belgium’s telecommunications upgrade programme with a $385m contract for 960,000 new lines of System 12 exchanges: of the 1.5m total, Siemens gets a guaranteed 480,000 lines of EWSD switches, and the balance will be put to tender.
