A satellite earthstation contract worth some $4m has been awarded to Alcatel NV’s Radio Space & Defence Product Group by Telecom Eireann: it is to be installed in Elfordstown, near Cork and will provide telephone links and exchange TV programs with other European countries over the Eutelsat satellite.
