By CBR Staff Writer

Turkish telecommunications equipment producer Alcatel Teletas Telekomunikasyon Endustri ve Ticaret AS, owned 65% by the Belgian Alcatel Bell SA and Alcatel Holding BV units of Alcatel Alsthom SA sold its old parts production plant in Istanbul for $11m. It was sold to local Komsa telecommunications equipment company because Teletas wanted more funds for its core businesss. Teletas said the amount would be collected in installments until the end of 1998. The company, which just announced $10m of export deals in Kyrgyztan, Azerbaijan and Georgia, swung to $8.2m net profit in 1995 from $670,000 loss in 1994.
