Alcatel Alsthom SA reports that its Spanish subsidiary Alcatel Standard Electrica SA has won 11 contracts worth a total of $140m for Alcatel 1000 System 12 exchanges: the contracts were signed with the telephone administrations of 10 Chinese provinces – Guizhou, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Henan, Kunming, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Sinjiang and Yunnan, and puts the French firm into 18 of the country’s 30 provinces.
