ALCATEL NV TO CLOSE SUPPORT CENTRE IN HARLOW

Alcatel NV is to close the former ITT engineering support centre in Harlow, Essex over the next year, but the 190 or so scientists and technicians are likely to be offered transfers to continental centres in Belgium, France and West Germany; 30 admin jobs will be lost.
