Now that Compagnie Generale d’Electricite, CGE, is running the show at ITT’s computer operations in the US, it has moved in quickly to swap all the furniture around. The Integrated Business Systems Group is no more, and the Xtra IBM Personalike operation has been combined with the Courier 3270-compatible displays business; CGE says that most of the sales of the Xtra were to large users of Courier terminals anyway. ITT Information Systems, ITT Courier and Servocom are now all part of ITT Systems Inc, reporting to Alcatel NV in Brussels. The ITT Systems name will disappear shortly. Alcatel NV Business Systems has been formed to combine the US marketing arm of Alcatel Thomson selling PABXs and key telephones, with Qume Corp, Friden and TCA. ITT Network Systems moves to the Raleigh, North Carolina base from which CGE sells the E-10 public exchange, from Reston, Virginia. The ITT Advanced Technology Center in Shelton, Connecticut shuts in July.
