Telecommunications vendor Alcatel-Lucent has released OmniTouch My Instant Communicator suite release 5.1, a collaboration platform with complete support for the IBM Lotus Sametime 8.0 environments.
The platform aims to integrate open standards-based communications to the desktop environment via unified messaging, IP telephony control and multi-party audio conferencing.
According to the company, the services offers users voice and fax messaging within IBM Lotus Notes and embedded telephony services such as click to call, call control, call logging, call routing and filtering, soft phone access and audio conferencing within the Lotus Notes and Lotus Sametime interfaces.
Audio conferencing will also be catered for, via the Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch 8660 My Teamwork Conferencing and Collaboration client. Features include click-to-conference from Sametime Connect and multi-party call control and scheduling from Lotus Sametime Meeting Center.
It is accessible from the Lotus Sametime client interface, which Alcatel-Lucent believes should result in a quick setup with no downtime.
