Alcatel NV signed a letter of intent with China’s Communications Ministry for the creation of a joint venture company in the fields of telecommunications, security and toll equipment for highways: Alcatel will have a 51% stake in the joint venture with the other 49% to be held by the Ministry – Alcatel reckons China will equip 625 miles of road each year for the next 15.
