Alcatel NV is talking ventures in Hungary, Poland and the Soviet Union, with Czechoslovakia also on the itinerary. In Hungary, it is negotiating a joint venture to manufacture PABXs, and it is still in talks on the long-promised deal to licence manufacture of public exchanges in Poland. In the Soviet Union it is looking at a joint venture to make telex machines, and is looking at providing telecommunications to a luxury tourist resort.
