ALCATEL ESPACE PLANS SKYBRIDGE SATELLITE LAUNCH IN 2001

The Alcatel Espace division of Alcatel Alsthom SA says it will launch the first satellite in its 64-satellite Skybridge global telecommunications network in 2001. It is planned to cost some private users $40 per month, on top of a $700 investment in a satellite dish, and between $100 and $150 per month for professional users.
