Alactel Espace, Toulouse, France is a major beneficiary of the Intelsat VII satellite contract awarded to Ford Aerospace Corp earlier this year: Ford has awarded it an $86m contract to supply five satellites with the prospect that orders for a further seven birds may follow by 1994; the first Intelsat VIIs are to go up to serve the Pacific Ocean region, going up in mid-1992 and early 1993, replacing V-A satellites and each VII will have 36 transponders, 16 at 72MHz, 10 at 36MHz in the C-Band, six at 72MHz and four at 112MHz in the Ku-Band.
