Alcatel NV has reorganised its Alcatel Business Systems Group into three units, looking after business, consumer and mailing products, and has also divided the sales and service responsibilities for the three groups into four regions – Europe 1 based in Vienna, Austra, Europe 2, headquartered heer in London, with France and Rest of the World regions run from Paris. The telecommunications business becomes the Network Systems Group, also divided into three units – Public Switching Systems, Line Transmission, and Public & Private Networks. The old Transmission Products Group now becomes the Radiocommunications, Space & Defence Group, with defence and mobile communications added to its responsibilities. It comprises the Defence, Radiocommunications and Space Product Sectors, and the International Operations arm. Only the Cable Group and the Network Engineering & Installation Group are unaffected by the comprehensive shake-up.
