Alcatel Alsthom SA reports that its Alcatel Business Systems unit has increased its stake in STC Business Communications Pty Ltd of South Africa to 50% from 19%, paying an undisclosed sum; STC has a 18% stake of the automatic telephone switch market and wants 25% of the private telephony market in 1996; the other shareholder in STC is Allied Electronics Pty Ltd, Altron.
