Alcatel Bell, the Belgian telecommunications equipment subsidiary of Alcatel-Alsthom SA, is rumoured to be about to sell a Metropolitan Area Network to British Telecommunications Plc: the UK phone company has such a network in the Netherlands, and is known to be negotiating for one in Belgium; the contract would cover delivery, installation and training, says the Belgian De Financieel Ekonomische Tijd.
