Alcatel NV has now drawn up its figures for 1987 – its first year of operations – and says that it made a net profit equivalent to $425.5m after gains of $92.4m from sale of businesses, on turnover of $13,722m: the company is owned 56.3% by Compagnie Ge’ne’rale d’Electricite’ SA, 37% by ITT Corp, 5.2% by Socie’te’ Ge’ne’rale de Belgique SA, and 1.5% by Cre’dit Lyonnais SA.
