Bingham Farms, Michigan-based ALC Communications Corp and its wholly-owned Allnet Communications Services Inc subsidiary say they have completed a series of contracts that will result in a reduction of the company’s network costs in Michigan by over $2m a year: ALC will acquire a minority stake in a 421-mile fibre optic network that runs throughout Michigan, and it will be extended to South Bend, Indiana to meet ALC’s US-wide digital network; the Michigan network was acquired from General Electric Co’s GE Capital Corp, with ALC buying a 15% stake and the remainder being purchased by IXC Communications Inc.
