Akamai’s EdgeSuite network of Internet edge servers runs IBM’s WebSphere application server. The company says EdgeSuite takes cost and effort out of capacity planning and helps companies ensure their applications have higher availability.

Under the new offering, available in the first quarter next year, J2EE developers using WebSphere studio get a Deploy button to click, which allows them to push their code out to EdgeSuite if they are an Akamai customer.
