American Industrial Systems(AIS) has introduced a new mobile Ruggedized Military Tablet PC featuring military rated environmental engineering compliance for harsh environments and are powered by the new Intel Atom Processor.
According to AIS, the new tablet PC features 10.4-inch display, Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz with Intel 945 GSE Chipset + ICH7, and transflective backlight enhancement for sunlight readability.
The new tablet PC sports a practical design featuring an aluminum-magnesium alloy construction with individually sealed ports for complete IP54 waterproof and dust proof protection. The unit is engineered to Military 810F shock, vibration, temperature, humidity, dust and drop standards to withstand the most extreme mobile applications, the company claims.
According to AIS, the new tablet PC with touch screen comes with an integrated lithium ion battery and features programmable buttons and HMI touchscreen technology for easy navigation. It also includes 802.11b/g WIFI and bluetooth modules for connection to wireless networks and Bluetooth devices.
The unit has an integrated PCMCIA slot to allow the addition of wireless modems and third-party devices such as GPS. The AIS commercially off the shelf (COTS) Rugged Tablet PC provides a mobile automation, mobile communication, and mobile terminal to industrial, utility, and commercial environments.
In addition, the new PC has wide temperature range and PC-based RTU can support standard protocols (Modbus, IEC 60870-5-101/103/104, DNP3, ICCP, etc.) to interface any third party software.
