AirTouch Communications Inc is to take a 4.5% stake in the Mannesmann AG-led consortium that holds a minority stake in Arcor Telecommunications GmbH alternative infrastructure firm in Germany. AirTouch has the option to raise its stake to 9% in the year 2000, when Mannesmann’s stake in Arcor will rise to 51%, replacing the Deutsche Bahn AG as the majority shareholder. The Mannesmann-led team, with 49.8%, includes AT&T Corp, holding 15% of the consortium, Unisource NV with 15%, and Deutsche Bank AG with 10%.
