Agfa Business Imaging Systems Ltd, Brentford, has announced a Focus range of flatbed charge-coupled device scanners plus two new desktop laser printers in the UK: the four new scanners, the S800, S600, S800GS and S600GS, provide 800 dots per inch resolution and will be available along with image processing software for use with the Apple Macintosh, MS-DOS and OS/2 operating systems, and software for Sun and other Unix systems will be available by the summer; the P3400 and P3400PS desktop laser printers provide a resolution of over 400 dots per inch with a print rate of 12 pages per minute, and the P3400 is modular allowing memory to be upgraded to include a 20Mb Winchester, while the P3400PS comes fitted with a 20Mb hard disk – entry level price for the scanners is UKP2,495, for the printers UKP7,500, and both are available immediately.
