Aether Systems Inc has added Linux support to its Intelligent Messaging (AIM) software. The AIM software allows enterprises to build messaging software for a handheld or wireless client, which can send or receive data from an AIM server that extracts pre- selected data from a company’s existing enterprise systems. The client and server software can be built in C/C++, Java and Microsoft’s COM. Aether’s vice president of software sales and licensing said that the software would typically be licensed for around $75 per client device. AIM is already available on Windows NT and Solaris.
