AES has launched its AES 286 AT Personal Computer here in the UK, pricing it 25% below IBM and offering quantity discounts of up to 35%. With 20Mb Winchester, 1.2Mb floppy, 1Mb processor running at 8MHz with no wait states, mono display and six vacant slots, it costs UKP3,000. AES also offers a plug-in board that runs its proprietary Aesop 4.3 networking operating system that enables the box to be used as a terminal on an AES network.
