The good news is that somebody has come up with a Zinc-air rechargeable battery that offers three times the power of Nickel Cadmium batteries: the Power 20 from AER Energy Resources Inc of Atlanta, comes in a 12V configuration compatible with most portable computers, which comes fully charged and ready to use with little power leakage; the bad news is that the system consisting of the 20-hour battery, the air manager with energy gas gauge, a charger and connectors for most computers and cellular phones sells for a suggested $650, with replacement battery costing $400.
