AEG TURNS TO EMM COMPUTERS FOR A RUGGEDISED 80386

The AEG AG arm of Daimler Benz has turned to EMM Computers Ltd, Maidenhead, Berkshire for a ruggedised 80386 machine: the Combat 386 Ruggedised PC is a portable AT-alike aimed at the military with up to 16Mb RAM and up to 3Mb on solid state secondary storage or hardcard Winchesters up to 40Mb; it has 640 by 400 electroluminescent display, and plasma and LCD are offered as options, and the keyboard is partially back-lit by light emitting diodes; it runs MS-DOS now and Unix is on the way, and, being a military machine, runs Ada, with support from those leading Ada mants, High Integrity Systems Ltd, which lives in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire.
