Having finally given up on its chronic office systems loss-maker Olympia, AEG AG says that it will close the Wilhelmshaven factory, where it employs 3,300, by the end of next year: it still hopes to sell the Olympia marketing network, but the announcement caused 2,000 union members from different parts of the company stage a strike and mass meeting outside the company’s headquarters in Frankfurt, according to the AP-Dow Jones news wire.
