AEG Radiocomunicaciones SA has announced it is to restructure its activities into three new divisions: Digital Systems, Radio Communications Engineering and Control, Vigilance and Information Systems. According to Computerworld Espana, through the new operational structure, which will attend to client needs directly, the company seeks to consolidate its business in Spain and gain access to overseas markets. The reshuffle is the most important the company has made since AEG Radiocomunicaciones became part of the Matra Communication SA group three years ago – it originated as part of the now largely defunct AEG AG subsidiary of Daimler-Benz AG. The Digital Systems division will be responsible for promoting the introduction into Spain of advanced digital radio communications technology; Radio Communications Engineering will focus on the development, manufacture, marketing, after-sales, technical support and maintenance of radio communications systems, and this division will also offer turnkey systems engineering projects. The third, Control, Vigilance and Information Systems, division will attend to national and international overland and underground railway projects.
