AEG GIVES UP ON OLYMPIA

By CBR Staff Writer

AEG AG, which gave up on its Olympia Office GmbH office systems subsidiary, which has been bleeding red ink for years and years, some time ago, and has begun the process of winding it down: it is splitting it into three – a manufacturing company that will be closed at the end of next year, a marketing unit, which the company still hopes to sell, and a property division that will be responsible for disposing of the Wilhemshaven plant and other facilities; Smith Corona Corp and Samsung Electronics Co are said to be interested in the marketing arm.
