Adtran has enhanced its portfolio of carrier ethernet products with the addition of three new multiservice modular routers supporting a services-enabled sustained throughput of up to 250Mbps.
The company claims that the new NetVanta 3450, 3458 and 4430, enable end users to extract throughput and performance from their carrier ethernet services. The Adtran carrier ethernet product suite includes the NetVanta 3400 and 4400 Series of modular, multiservice access routers and the NetVanta 800 Series of ethernet access devices.
According to Adtran, the NetVanta 3450 and 3458 are the newest additions to the NetVanta router family and these new dual-slot platforms provide support for multiple T1s or E1s of bandwidth and 45Mbps of carrier ethernet. The NetVanta 3448 and NetVanta 3458 add the benefit of an integral eight-port Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch. All of these platforms offer high packet throughput and are suitable for mid-size or larger enterprises that are transitioning to Voice over IP (VoIP) or that have a desire to deploy 3G services for disaster recovery.
The company claims that the NetVanta 4430 simplifies deployment for carrier ethernet services, with support for up to 750Mbps. It allows customers to speed deployment, reduce capital and operating expenditures and increase network utilisation.
The 800 Series of ethernet access devices offers benefits that include EFM-bonded NTUs that are designed for voice and data service deployments; support for up to eight two-wire SHDSL loops, eight four-wire T1/E1 loops or three DS3s; MEF compliant; and support up to gigabit ethernet, Adtran said.
