Applied Data Research Inc, Princeton, New Jersey yesterday introduced a major new release of its Roscoe on-line program development system, claiming that it increases MVS programming performance by applying techniques that will be used in the Enterprise Systems Architecture version of IBM’s TSO. Roscoe 5.6 also provides a Cobol and PL/1 program development facility for IBM’s DB2 database management system, with facilities for dynamic execution of SQL statements, processing of DB2 commands and interactive executing of DB2 applications – all from within Roscoe. And data managed by the library system can now be con trolled through a cacheing mechanism to cut input-output.
